Mountain Biking
Get out and explore the amazing terrain here in north Iceland. There are numerous single track trails as well as a well developed downhill trail in the Akureyri ski area.
Hiking
Skiðadalur Valley is a great area for hiking. There are numerous paths and routes to explore. You can take a short walk to the nearby waterfall or spend a full day hiking to the glacier. Experience the beauty of the valley that can only be accessed by foot.
Snowshoeing
When the snow falls strapping on some snowshoes is a great way to explore the valley. There are many excellent snowshoeing options in the surrounding mountains with something for everyone - whether you are looking for a leisurely walk or more strenuous ascent of a nearby peak.
Fishing & Hunting
Iceland is a great destination for fishing and hunting. Enjoy the crystal clear waters surrounded by majestic mountains that surround the valley. The most common fish are the Arctic Char and Brown trout and hunting for geese is popular. The fishing season is from April - September & the hunting season is during the fall and early winter.

Bird Watching
Iceland lies at a meeting point of migratory routes with over 250 species of birds to be seen. Common birds are arctic terns, fulmars, puffins, razorbills, and guillemots. Visit the local bird sanctuary near Dalvík or make a day trip to Mývatn, a paradise for bird watchers.
Northern Lights
The Northern Lights are an amazing site and Iceland is the perfect place to witness this natural phenomenon. Enjoy this spectacular display of swirling colors from the remote setting of Raven Hill Lodge. Northern Lights are visible in Iceland from September through March.
Skiing
The Troll Peninsula is one of Iceland's premier spots for skiing. During the spring the lodge is the base for Arctic Heli Skiing. We also offer an extensive Ski Touring program through Bergmenn Mountain Guides. Please contact us for further information on skiing possilbilities.
Geothermal Baths
Iceland is famous for its geothermal heat and numerous hotsprings and geothermal pools.
Town Visits
With the quaint town of Akureyri only a 50 minute drive in one direction and Siglufjörður only 50 minutes the other way Klængsholl is remote yet close to some of Iceland´s most popular towns.
